Statement of the Georgian Foreign Ministry in reaction to the attack that struck the Garissa University in Kenya on 2 April 2015

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia expresses its deep grief over the attack that struck the Garissa University in Kenya on 2 April 2015 when gunmen from the Islamist militant group al Shabaab killed about 150 people and wounded 80.

Georgia condemns terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and expresses the hope that the perpetrators of this act will be punished in full accordance with the law.

Georgia supports the Kenyan Government’s efforts aimed at ensuring stability and eliminating violent extremism in the country.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry conveys its condolences to the Kenyan Government, and people as well as to the families of the terror victims.
