At a meeting with with Miroslav Lajčák David Zalkaliani has discussed the situation across the occupation line

10.09.2019, Tbilisi – Georgian Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani hosted  OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, Minister of Foreign and European Affairs, Miroslav Lajčák. The sides discussed a broad spectrum of bilateral and multilateral cooperation paying special attention to the recent development in Georgia’s occupied occupied territories and across the occupation line. Zalkaliani briefed Lajčák about the illegal activities of occupation forces in the villages of Gugutiantkari and Chorchana.
The Georgian and Slovak Ministers condemned the decision of the occupied Tskhinvali to close crossing points, connecting the region with the rest of Georgia and creating the humanitarian crisis on the ground.
“This is part of the efforts aimed at dragging us into the illegal delimitation-demarcation process. But this will never happen as the territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognized borders is the key principle we adhere to. We call on the occupation regime to sit at the negotiation table to decide all issues within the framework of IPRM and to immediately stop the illegal activities unanimously condemned by the international community. We will further use all formats at our disposal, including the Geneval International Discussions and will continue to consolidate the international community” – David Zalkaliani said.
