Information on Georgia's candidate for election to the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women

The Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, Ms Tamar Beruchashvili, held a meeting on the 24th of April 2014 at the Georgian Foreign Ministry with representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Georgia, to whom she introduced Ms Lia Nadaraia, who will stand for election to the United Nations' Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW) for the period 2015-2018. The vote is due to be held in New York on the 26th of June 2014.

On the 15th of April 2014 in the village of Adzvi (Gori district), Russian occupation troops detained three employees of the ‘TV3' channel: Ms Bela Zakaidze, a reporter; Mr Vakhtang Lekiashvili, her cameraman; and Mr Mikheil Mikhoev, a broadcast technician.
