UN SaakashviliPresident of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili addressed the 64th session of the UN General Assembly. In his address, Mikheil Saakashvili focused on the occupied territories of Georgia and the challenges faced by the country.

The Georgian President thanked the UN for its16-year work in Georgia and expressed his gratitude to the US President and Vice-President for their support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.

According to President Saakashvili, reforms set in motion in Georgia will within the next years advance the progress of the Rose Revolution.

"Europe today is divided by a new wall, built by an outside force - a wall cuts off one fifth of our territory - a wall that once again divides Europe from itself, creating new lines of repression and fear" - said the President of Georgia.

"Democracy is one of the best ways to topple this new wall" - Mikheil Saakashvili stated in his remarks.
