Information on the meeting between the Georgian Foreign Minister and OSCE Chairmanship-in Office, Tánaiste and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland

 

On June 13, 2012, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, H.E. Mr. Grigol Vashadze hosted a meeting with the OSCE Chairmanship-in Office, Tánaiste and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland, H.E. Mr. Eamon Gilmore.


During the meeting, the two ministers discussed the issues related to further cooperation within the OSCE framework, including more active role of the OSCE in the Geneva International Discussions and its strong engagement in peaceful resolution of the Russia-Georgia conflict.


The Irish Chairmanship-in-Office commended the Georgian authorities on the early invitations extended to the OSCE and a number of other international organizations and their continuous commitment to free, fair and transparent parliamentary elections in Georgia.


Particular attention was attached to the priorities of the Irish Chairmanship-in-Office related to all three dimensions of the OSCE, with a special emphasis on human dimension, and expectations towards the Dublin Ministerial Council Meeting.


During the meeting, the parties discussed the principal issues that would further deepen bilateral economic and political cooperation between Georgia and Ireland.
