On October 6, 2006 Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia Gela Bezhuashvili held a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Karl Bild .   

The Georgian Minister congratulated his Swedish counterpart on his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden  and wished him success during his term of this highly honorable and responsible office.

The Ministers agreed to do all in their power to further enhance the existing cooperation  between the two countries and hold visits at the level of the Foreign Ministries.

Note was taken of the decision to set up Georgian embassy in the Kingdom of Sweden and the Republic of Finland where Mr. Amiran Kavadze will assume his functions as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia.
