Statement of the Georgian Foreign Ministry in reaction to an attack on a Georgian police checkpoint near the village of Ganmukhuri, Zugdidi district
On 4 March 2012 at 03:20 local time, six members of the Russian forces currently occupying the region of Abkhazia, Georgia, opened fire with automatic weapons and an RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenade launcher towards a Georgian police checkpoint near the village of Ganmukhuri, Zugdidi district. No casualties were reported during the shoot-out, which lasted ten minutes, and the attackers fled back into occupied Abkhazia. Publication date: 05.03.2012
