Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri opened the third annual plenary session of the U.S.-Georgia Strategic Partnership Commission in Batumi on June 5. All four bilateral working groups, co-chaired by senior representatives from the United States and Georgian Governments, discussed a wide range of issues of importance to both countries. 

Yet another wave of mass human rights violations has been launched in the Russian Federation, involving police searching the homes and offices of representatives of opposition parties and of people with different opinions, arrests, physical harassment and the use of various coercive measures to restrict these people's activities.

On June 13, 2012 the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, H.E. Mr. Grigol Vashadze hosted a meeting with the OSCE Chairmanship-in Office, Tánaiste and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland, H.E. Mr. Eamon Gilmore.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry wishes to express its deep sorrow over the attacks which hit several villages of Nigeria's northern province of Zampara and which resulted in the deaths of innocent people.
