On the 21st of June 2012, the newly-appointed Ambassador of Georgia to Romania, Mr. Ilia Giorgadze, presented his credentials to the Romanian President, Mr. Traian Basescu.

From the 20th to the 23rd of June 2012, a delegation of the Georgian Foreign Ministry led by the Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Nikoloz Vashakidze, paid a working visit to the Vatican to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Holy See.

The Georgian Foreign Minister, Mr. Grigol Vashadze, and his Italian counterpart, Mr. Giulio Terzi di Sant'Agata signed a joint statement to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and the Republic of Italy.
