On 25 June 2012, Tbilisi hosted the 5th session of the EU-Georgian Cooperation Sub-committee on Justice, Freedom and Security. The Sub-committee co-chairs were the Director of the Department for European Integration, Mrs. Tea Akhvlediani and the Head of the Eastern Partnership Division of the EU Foreign Service, Mr. John Kjaer.

On 20-22 June 2012 United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development "Rio+20" was held in Rio de Janeiro, which was attended by the Georgian delegation led by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Mrs. Vera Kobalia. The Georgian delegation also included the Minister of Environmental Protection, Mr. Giorgi Khachidze and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Sergi Kapanadze.
