The 15th Meeting of the Organization for Democracy and Economic Development - GUAM Council of Ministers for Foreign Affairs (GUAM CMFA) was held on 29 September 2011, in the margins of the Eastern Partnership Summit in Warsaw.

On 27 September 2011, in his speech to the 66th Session of the UN General Assembly, the Russian Foreign Minister, Mr. Sergei Lavrov, once again tried to accuse Georgia of starting the hostilities of August 2008 and once again confirmed Moscow's readiness to be "a guarantor of arrangements regarding the non-use of force between Georgia, South Ossetia and Abkhazia"

On 28 September 2011, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, the Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Sergi Kapanadze, met the U.S. Ambassador to Georgia, Mr. John Bass.

On 26 September 2011, a Russian delegation, headed by the chairperson of Russia's Federation Council, Mrs. Valentina Matviyenko, attended the "inauguration" of the so-called "president of Abkhazia" in Georgia's occupied region of Abkhazia.

On 26 September 2011, a meeting was held in New York between the Georgian Foreign Minister, Mr. Grigol Vashadze, and the U.S. Secretary of State, Mrs. Hillary Clinton. The meeting was also attended by the Secretary of the Georgian National Security Council, Mr. Giorgi Bokeria.

Between 28 September and 6 October 2011, the Georgian Foreign Minister, Mr. Grigol Vashadze, will pay a working visit to New Zealand, to the Republic of Fiji and to the Commonwealth of Australia. This will be the Georgian Foreign Minister's first visit to the Pacific Rim, the goal of which consists in developing bilateral and multilateral relations between Georgia and the countries of this region.

On 22 September 2011, the 11th meeting of the Georgia-EU Co-operation Committee was held in Tbilisi. The Georgian delegation was led by the Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Tornike Gordadze, and the EU delegation was led by the European External Action Service's Deputy Executive Director for Europe and Central Asia, Mr. Gunnar Wiegand. The meeting was also attended by representatives of the Georgian government and of the EU delegation to Georgia, as well as by representatives of EU member states' embassies in Georgia.

It is both an honor and a profound responsibility to address the 66^th Plenary Session of the United Nations General Assembly on behalf of the Georgian people.

The United Nations is one of the international community's greatest legacies of the last century, an institution resulting both from history's most outrageous crimes and from humanity's capacity to confront, reckon with, and overcome the consequences of such crimes.

On 24 September 2011, within the framework of the General Debate of the 66th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Georgian Foreign Minister, Mr. Grigol Vashadze, held meetings with the foreign ministers of Liberia, Senegal and Slovenia.

On 23 September 2011, within the framework of the General Debate of the 66th session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Georgian Foreign Minister, Mr. Grigol Vashadze, held meetings with the foreign ministers of Cameroon and of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

On 22 September 2011, the State Duma of the Russian Federation passed two laws: 'On the ratification of the so-called "Agreement on the establishment of an integrated Russian military base on the territory of the so-called Republic of Abkhazia"' (between the Russian Federation and the occupation regime it has created in Abkhazia) and 'On the ratification of the so-called "Agreement on the establishment of an integrated Russian military base on the territory of the so-called "Republic of South Ossetia"' (between the Russian Federation and the occupation regime it has created in the Tskhinvali Region/South Ossetia).

The Georgian Foreign Ministry reiterates its unequivocal support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan within internationally recognized borders, and does not recognize the illegal elections of so-called "local self-government bodies"' in Nagorno Karabakh on 18 September 2011.

The President of Georgia took part in the Inaugural Concordia Summit in New York, held within the framework of the 66th session of the UN General Assembly. The summit, which was dedicated to the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 tragedy, was opened with the speech delivered by Georgia's President Mikheil Saakashvili - he addressed the world leaders and focused on the recent revolutions and their results.

Ten years have passed since the terrorist attack on American cities which claimed the lives of almost 3,000 innocent people.

On 13 September 2011, the Georgian Foreign Minister, Mr. Grigol Vashadze, hosted a meeting with his Lithuanian counterpart and OSCE Chairman-in-Office, Mr. Audronius Ažubalis.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry condemns the attack which took place on the embassy of the State of Israel in Cairo on 9 September 2011 - an attack which led to casualties and which left hundreds injured and the embassy buildings damaged.

The Georgian Foreign Ministry wishes to express its deep grief over the sinking of a ship in Tanzania's Zanzibar archipelago

On September 7, 2011, at 01:05 pm., three Russian MI-8 military helicopters breached the Georgian airspace over the Tanie Gorge near the Shatili village in severe violation of the fundamental principles of international law, as well as sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia. The helicopters intruded 3 km deep into the Georgian airspace and circled around the Georgian border police checkpoint for approximately 15 minutes. Afterwards the helicopters left the Georgian airspace.

On 7 September 2011 in Vaduz, Georgia's Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Principality of Liechtenstein, Mr. Zurab Chiaberashvili, presented copies of his credentials to Prince Alois of Liechtenstein.

On 9 September 2011, the Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr. Sergi Kapanadze, met the heads of the embassies of the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and France, as well as representatives of the European Union Delegation to Georgia and the European Union Monitoring Mission in Georgia.

Today, on August 26, 2011 the Russian occupation forces and its proxy regime in Sokhumi conducted another cynical act of the pseudo-democratic policy - the so-called "presidential elections". Moscow also brought to Abkhazia several dozen of so-called "international observers" in an attempt to legitimize the outcome of these "elections", and thus the ethnic cleansing of hundreds of thousands of people. It is unfortunate that many "observers" visited Abkhazia without the prior knowledge of the situation on the ground or knowledge of being in violation of Georgian legislation.
