Tourism Sector is one of the most rapidly growing sectors in Georgia. There is a variety of possibilities to invest in tourism in Georgia starting from Sea resorts, continuing to mountain, skiing, mineral waters, healthy, cultural and other type of tourism. Almost all regions of Georgia are rich with sight-seeing.
The clear example of development of tourism in Georgia is the Adjara Black Sea littoral region. Almost all brands of hotels are operating or planning to operate in Adjara region. It should be underlined that Adjara region hosted 85% from tourists which visited Georgia in 2010.
Number of international tourist arrivals to Georgia reached over 1,5 million in 2009 representing 16 % growth. In 2010, more than 2 million tourists visited Georgia, which is 36 % higher than the number of tourists in 2009.
Foreign direct investments in tourism sector grew substantially to over USD 132 million in 2009. Tourism earnings more than tripled from USD 147 million in 2004 to USD 470 million in 2009.
"Kobuleti Free Touristic Zone"
At the same time, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia started accepting statements from physical and legal entities concerning the construction of hotels with the intention to develop „Kobuleti Free Touristic Zone" (so called "Pichvnari" territory, 140 meters from the sea.) in Adgara region.
It is remarkable that Management of the construction building land will happen at a symbolic price; Project construction documentation will be handed to the investor for free; The territory will be provided with Engineering Utility Networks and corresponding infrastructure.
In case if the project is finished by August 1, 2011, the investor will receive a 15-year income and property tax exemption.
"Anaklia-Zugdidi Free Touristic Zone"
Construction of "Anaklia-Zugdidi Free Touristic Zone" has also started. The Government of Georgia offers to investors unprecedented terms for the construction of hotels along the seaside that has the best climate conditions. It is notable that land, hotel projects and communications for investors will be provided by the Government gratis! Tax exemption for 15 years, new road from Poti to Anaklia along the seaside will be provided; the Government will lay mineral water to the new resort for free; a new airport in "Anaklia-Zugdidi Free Touristic Zone" as well as a sea resort with a yacht club will be constructed. The lands that will be handed over to investors are located alongside the boulevard, which was designed by Spanish architects.

"Mestia- Zemo Svaneti"
The development of mountanios regions are among the top priorities for the Government. Zemo Svaneti region, which is favorite place for tourists destination, due to its unique nature and ancient monuments, deserves particular importance by the local and central governmental authorities as well.
Active works to attract investments are held in accordance with the Governmental decision on developing Mestia. Having the features that only some countries in Europe have - that is summer skiing routes - the Ushba plateau that meets the Olympic requirements, will have about ten high level skiing resorts in 5-6 years.
New Arport in Mestia, has a wonderful location and interesting perspectives for development. It is possible to perform daily flights aiming at developing Mestia and Ushguli into viable tourism destinations. The airport will be a connecting link between Svaneti and other regions of Georgia.
