On the 21st of May 2013 during a working visit to Japan, the Georgian Foreign Minister, Ms Maia Panjikidze, held a meeting with her Japanese counterpart, Mr Fumio Kishida.

The Georgian Foreign Minister, Ms Maia Panjikidze, recently took part in the Visegrad 4 Eastern Partnership (EaP) Extended Meeting of Foreign Ministers held in Kraków.

On the 17th of May 2013, a meeting was held between the First Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr Davit Zalkaliani and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the French Republic to Georgia, Mr Renaud Salins.

On the 16th of May 2013, the Georgian First Deputy Foreign Minister, Mr Davit Zalkaliani, met the head of the NATO Liaison Office, Mr William Lahue.

The Georgian President, Mr Mikheil Saakashvili, has decreed the 16th of May to be a day of mourning in memory of the three Georgian soldiers who fell during a terrorist attack on the 13th of May while serving as part of the ISAF peacekeeping mission.
