On 23-24 August 2010, in the city of Mexico, political consultations were held between the Foreign Ministries of Georgia and Mexico. The Georgian delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Levan Davituliani. The sides discussed prospects for the development of political, economic and cultural relations between Georgia and Mexico and outlined concrete fields of cooperation in bilateral as well as multilateral format. On 16 September 2010 Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri attended the event dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the independence of Mexico held in the city of Mexico. President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvil took part in the 16th session of the UN Climate Chance Conference held in Cancún, Mexico from 29 November to 10 December 2010. On 14 July 2011 Georgian Ambassador to Mexico Malkhaz Mikeladze presented his credentials to Mexican President Felipe Calderón. On 22 and 23 August 2011, Georgian Foreign MinisterGrigol Vashadze paid an official visit to the United States of Mexico. During this visit, Mr. Vashadze met his Mexican counterpartPatricia Espinosa, and the Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Mexican Chamber of Deputies Porfirio Muñoz Ledo.
