Ambassadors of Georgia to Switzerland In the years 1997-2012 the Georgian Embassy to Switzerland was located in Geneva. In April 2012, the Georgian Embassy was opened in Bern.

Ambassadors of Switzerland to Georgia 2001 -2006- Stefan Speck 2006 – 2010- Lorenzo Amberg 2010 - to date- Guenther Baechler Fields of Cooperation The Cooperation between the Georgian and Swiss sides is intensifying very actively. The sides successfully cooperate in the field of Development Cooperation. The Georgian side is grateful for technical cooperation and humanitarian assistance implemented by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The following core projects are currently implemented in Georgia: Rural Development in Samtske-Javakheti, Racha-Lechkhumi, Social Housing in a supportive environment in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Gori, Zugdidi and Batumi, Rural Tourism and Development, Disaster Risk reduction in the municipalities of Tsageri and Lentekhi. In 2009, upon the Agreement reached between the Georgian, Swiss and Russian sides, the Swiss side assumed the function of mediator in bilateral relations with Russia and represents Georgia’s interests in the Russian Federation.

2012 January- Prime-Minister of Georgia Mr. Nika Gilauri participated in the World Economic Forum in Davos; June- Ms. Vera Kobalia, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development participated in the EFTA-Ministerial meeting held in Gstad.
2011 January- Mr. Dimitri Shashkin, Minister of Education and Science visited Bern; February- Mr. Ramaz Nikolaishvili, Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development visited Bern; 8-8 March- Mr. Grigol Vashadze, Minister of Foreign Affairs visited Bern and Geneva.
2010 15-16 June- Visit of Mr. Nika Gilauri, the Prime Minister of Georgia tin Bern; 19-21 June- Visit of Mr. David Bakradze, the Chairman of the Parliament of Georgia to Geneva; 22-23 October- President Mr. Mikhail Saakashvili participated in the Summit of Frankophonie held in Montreaux.
