On 11 June 2026, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Alexander Khvtisiashvili, participated in the second session of the Georgia-Kyrgyzstan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, which was co-chaired by the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili and the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Bakyt Sydykov.

The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, and the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, exchanged letters to congratulate each other on the 34th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and China and reached a joint decision to elevate Georgia-China relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.

“Over the years, the trilateral format has evolved into one of the most effective and successful mechanisms of regional cooperation, and I am pleased that today we are able to assess the practical outcomes of this collaboration,” the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili said during a joint press conference held following the 10th Trilateral Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Georgia, Türkiye and Azerbaijan in Istanbul.
