The Irish side's decision to grant visa-free travel to Georgian citizens with diplomatic passports was considered a step forward, which, according to the Irish side, will help establish close contacts and deepen bilateral relations.

The Vice Prime Minister of Ireland, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Micheál Martin and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili expressed the hope that this decision will contribute to simplifying the visa regime for Georgian citizens in the future.

According to the Irish side, the process of technical implementation of the decision is currently underway.
