At the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, a professional exchange programme for young diplomats, the “Crossroads Diplomacy Network” was implemented, bringing together representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the Central Asian countries - Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan - as well as representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia.
Addressing the concluding event of the programme, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili spoke about the significance of the initiative and noted that it is aimed at facilitating the exchange of experience among young diplomats and strengthening cooperation.
“We wanted to create a space where young diplomats from different countries and regions could meet, exchange experiences, discuss common challenges, discover new opportunities for cooperation, and, most importantly, get to know one another,” Maka Botchorishvili stated.
The Minister emphasized the growing importance of cooperation between Georgia and the countries of Central Asia, as well as the importance of strengthening professional ties in this regard.
“Our countries are connected through growing economic relations, transport and trade routes, and energy cooperation. The Middle Corridor is one important example of this growing connectivity, creating new opportunities between Central Asia, Georgia, and beyond. But while infrastructure can connect our economies, initiatives like this one can connect our people. Your presence here is particularly meaningful because you are the people who will shape the relations between our countries in the years to come. The relationships you build today may become the foundation for future cooperation”, Maka Botchorishvili emphasized.
The programme was implemented for the first time for young diplomats from the countries of Central Asia and will be held on a regular basis. The initiative aims to deepen professional and institutional ties between Georgia and countries of various regions, facilitate the exchange of experience, and foster the establishment of long-term professional relationships.
At the concluding event of the programme, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili presented certificates to the participants.
