On 29 May 2023, within the framework of the Globsec forum in Bratislava, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Ilia Darchiashvili held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign and European Affairs of Slovakia, Miroslav Wlachovský.
At the meeting, the ministers emphasized the friendly relations and close partnership between the two countries.
Discussions focused on current issues relating to bilateral relations and prospects for future cooperation.
Talking points included the process of Georgia's European integration, the progress achieved on this path and the next steps. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia expressed the hope that Slovakia will support Georgia's EU membership candidate status at the end of the year.
The sides discussed the security environment in the region and across the world. Ilia Darchiashvili thanked his Slovak colleague for his firm support of Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
It should be noted that the Global Security Forum (GLOBSEC) is held from 29 to 31 May in Bratislava.
The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili takes part in the forum.
