Ilia Darchiashvili has met with his Swedish colleague

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia met with his Swedish counterpart, Tobias Billström within the framework of the OSCE Ministerial Council in Skopje.

The ministers reviewed the main issues of bilateral cooperation between Georgia and Sweden. Ilia Darchiashvili noted that Georgia considers the Kingdom of Sweden as a friend and reliable partner and emphasized the importance of Sweden's support for Georgia on the path of European integration. Also, the ministers welcomed the European Commission’s recommendation on granting of candidate status to Georgia and the steps to be taken in this regard.

Ilia Darchiashvili thanked Tobias Billström for the country's unwavering support and emphasized Sweden's significant contribution to the EU Monitoring Mission.

At the meeting, the sides also talked about strengthening the political dialogue between Georgia and the Nordic countries.

Ilia Darchiashvili invited his colleague to visit Georgia.
