During the period from 28 November - 3 December 2023, the delegation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, led by the director of the Department of Americas, Giorgi Dolidze, was on a working visit to the Caribbean countries.
As part of the regional tour, the delegation visited the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, where they held a meeting with the Advisor to the Secretary General of CARICOM (Community of Caribbean States) on Foreign Affairs, Elizabeth Solomon. During the meeting, the sides discussed priority issues of current and future cooperation between Georgia and CARICOM member states.
Within the framework of the visit, a working meeting was also held with Guyana's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Elizabeth Harper.
During the delegation's visit to Grenada, meetings were held with Grenada's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Export Development, Joseph Andal, and First Deputy Minister, Roxy McLeish-Hutchinson. The second round of political consultations was also held between the foreign ministries of the two countries.
It should be noted that during the meetings held in the region, the sides reviewed the current issues and future perspectives on the agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation. Special attention was paid to the necessity of deepening the existing cooperation in political, trade-economic, cultural, education and tourism areas.
During the meetings, the parties confirmed their unwavering support for Georgia's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
