On 16 March, the UK Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, James Cleverley paid a visit to to Georgia.
Prior to the official meetings, the UK Secretary of State was hosted by his Georgian counterpart, Ilia Darchiashvili in an informal atmosphere. “Pleasure to welcome United Kingdom’s Foreign Secretary @JamesCleverly. I had an opportunity to discuss a set of themes of the bilateral agenda with him. I'm sure, this visit will contribute to broadening cooperation between Georgia and the United Kingdom” – Ilia Darchiashvili tweeted.
Within the framework of the visit, James Cleverly will meet the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Gharibashvili. He will also visit the occupation line and learn about the current situation on the spot. The official meeting of the foreign ministers of the two countries will be held on 17 March.
