On 30 April 2025, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Aleksandre Khvtisiashvili held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Georgia, Salman Abdulrahman Al Alsheikh.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed key areas of bilateral relations. They expressed satisfaction with the positive dynamics in the development of cooperation between Georgia and Saudi Arabia, both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
The discussion focused in particular on the prospects for strengthening trade and economic ties. The importance of conducting high-level and top-level official visits was emphasized, alongside the growing significance of people-to-people contacts—evidenced by the increasing number of tourists from Saudi Arabia visiting Georgia.
The parties also reviewed the preparatory work for the first session of the “Georgia–Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Coordination Council,” established at the end of 2024.
In addition, the meeting included an exchange of views on regional challenges and current security issues.
