On 8 July 2026, the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, George Zurabashvili, held a meeting with Ekaterina Galitsyna, Regional Director for the South Caucasus and Central Asia at KfW IPEX-Bank.
The parties discussed the growing strategic importance of the Middle Corridor, Georgia's transit and logistics potential, as well as opportunities for deepening cooperation with international partners. The discussion focused on relations between Georgia and the European Union and the country's European integration agenda. The First Deputy Minister expressed the Georgian Government's unwavering commitment to the country's accession to the European Union and underscored the importance of active cooperation with European partners in this process.
Particular emphasis was placed on the initiative of the Consulate General of Georgia in Frankfurt, the "Consular Platform - Middle Corridor," which aims to enhance international awareness of Georgia as a transport and logistics hub connecting Europe and Asia, and to promote practical cooperation.
The discussion also focused on the potential involvement of KfW IPEX-Bank in strengthening cooperation with European investors, financial institutions, logistics companies and other relevant partners.
During her visit, Ekaterina Galitsyna is scheduled to hold meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, the Ministry of Finance of Georgia and the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
