Maka Botchorishvili has met with the Lieutenant Governor of California, Eleni Kounalakis

On 4 June 2026, within the framework of her visit to San Francisco, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, held a meeting with the Lieutenant Governor of California, Eleni Kounalakis.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues related to Georgia’s representation in the State of California, as well as the establishment of an innovation hub at the Consulate General of Georgia.

The discussion focused on Georgia’s progress in economic development, the attractiveness of its business and investment environment, as well as its strategic location and potential. Particular attention was given, in the context of Georgia-United States relations, to the work of Georgia’s representation in San Francisco and to the importance of effectively leveraging existing potential in the fields of innovation and technology.

The parties discussed prospects for future cooperation and reaffirmed their readiness to further deepen bilateral relations.
