Ilia Darchiashvili has met with his Slovenian counterpart 

Within the framework of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ilia Darchiashvili met with the Vice Premier, Foreign Minister of the Republic of Slovenia, Tanja Fajon
At the meeting, the sides discussed the issues on the agenda of bilateral and multilateral political relations.

Special attention was paid to the process of Georgia's integration into the European Union. Slovenia's strong support for Georgia's European future and the importance of granting the country a candidate status.

The Minister provided information to his Slovenian colleague about the steps taken by Georgia on the way to European integration and the implemented reforms, as well as the progress on implementation of the European Commission’s 12 recommendations.

The discussed the difficult security environment in the region, including the challenges facing Georgia.

The ministers also reviewed the growing potential of bilateral cooperation between the countries and emphasized the importance of high-level visits.
