The President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili, and the President of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, exchanged letters to congratulate each other on the 34th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Georgia and China and reached a joint decision to elevate Georgia-China relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.
In his letter, Mikheil Kavelashvili emphasized the significant progress achieved in relations between Georgia and the People’s Republic of China over the past three decades and the firm friendship that has developed based on mutual respect, trust and constructive cooperation.
Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Georgia and China have steadily strengthened their partnership and expanded cooperation across various domains, including trade, investment, connectivity, culture, education and people-to-people exchanges. Through joint efforts, bilateral relations have developed dynamically, producing tangible outcomes and creating new opportunities for cooperation.
Georgia attaches great importance to its relations with the People’s Republic of China and remains committed to further deepening the partnership and expanding bilateral cooperation, with the aim of ensuring the prosperity, development and sustainable future of both countries and their peoples.
The President’s letter emphasizes that, on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of diplomatic relations, the parties have the honour of announcing a joint decision to elevate Georgia-China relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership.
