On 14 May 2025, within the framework of the Council of Europe Ministerial Session held in Luxembourg, Georgia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Maka Botchorishvili, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, Marko Đurić.
The ministers reviewed bilateral and multilateral cooperation formats and discussed prospects for enhancing trade and economic relations. They welcomed the launch of direct air travel between the two countries, scheduled for June this year, noting that it will further contribute to the strengthening of business ties and people-to-people contacts.
The Serbian side’s decision to open an embassy in Tbilisi was positively assessed as a step that will further solidify the already friendly relations between the two nations.
In the context of European integration, the Georgian side underscored the importance of sharing Serbia’s and other Western Balkan countries’ experiences. The discussion also touched upon regional and global security challenges.
Both foreign ministers reaffirmed their mutual respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia and Serbia.
