On 20 May 2026, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, held an introductory meeting with Anne Montavon, Head of the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Georgia, and with the incoming Head of Delegation, Joanna Burton, who will assume her duties on 1 June.
During the meeting, emphasis was placed on the existing cooperation between Georgia and the International Committee of the Red Cross. The discussion also focused on the situation in Georgia’s occupied regions and the humanitarian efforts undertaken by the organization. Particular note was made of the significant role of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the search for and identification of missing persons in Georgia’s occupied regions.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their readiness to maintain close cooperation.
