The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has met with his Finnish counterpart

The Georgian Foreign Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili  met with his Finnish counterpart, Pekka Haavisto within the framework of the Munich conference.

The ministers reviewed the agenda of Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration. Ilia Darchiashvili informed his colleague about the work done on the path of integration into the European Union, including the implementation of 12 recommendations of the European Commission.

The sides highly appraised the European Commission’s evaluation report and noted the progress that Georgia has made on this path. Finland once again confirmed its support for the EU enlargement policy and Georgia's aspirations in this regard. Discussions focused on Georgia’s  integration into NATO.

The ministers paid special attention to the existing security challenges and the ways to solve them. Pekka Haavisto reaffirmed his support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia. Ilia Darchiashvili invited his colleague to visit Georgia.
