The EU-Georgia Association subcommittee on economic and sectoral cooperation has met in its 7th session

On 4 December, the 7th session of the first thematic group of the EU-Georgia Association subcommittee on economic and sectoral cooperation - ‘"economic dialogue, public finance management and financial control; statistics; financial services; accounting and auditing; fighting and controlling fraud was held in Tbilisi. From the Georgian side, the meeting was headed by Davit Bujiashvili, director of the Department of EU Assistance Coordination and Sectoral Integration of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and from the EU side – by Bettina Croman, the head of Regional Eastern Partnership, Regional Cooperation and OSCE  of the European External Action Service, on the EU side.

The representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development, the National Bank, the State Audit Service, the State Insurance Supervision Service, the National Statistics Service and the Employment Agency took part in the meeting from the Georgian side, and from the European Union, the representatives of the European Commission and the European Union Delegation to Georgia participated in the meeting.

At the meeting, the sides positively evaluated Georgia’s macro-economic policy, and the double-digit rate of economic growth for the second year. A positive assessment was given to the reforms implemented in Georgia in the areas of public finance management, statistics, insurance, state audit and fraud prevention. The sides agreed on specific steps for future cooperation.
